How to Root Android Phone Without Using A Computer

Rooting an android phone can be a headache, if you are using a computer for rooting. However, you don't need a computer anymore to root your phone. There is an android app that can do it for you and in just a few minutes and best of all it doesn't want you to connect your PC with your android device. All you need is install the app and you are good to go.

KingRoot is a Chinese app developed for rooting android devices. It also works for all new android release. You can download it here.

After downloading the app, you must go to Settings > Personal >Security. Scroll down to Device Administration and check Unknown Sources.

The above step is necessary else the operating system will not let you install the app as it is a third party application. Now, go to downloads and install the app. During installation, you may get a warning as shown in the picture below.

Just check "I understand and still want to install it" box and hit "INSTALL ANYWAY". Before running the app, you have to make sure that your android device is connected to internet beacause KingRoot
requires some additional files from internet. Run the app, it will start downloading the additional contents.
Once done, You will see something like this.






Hit the blue "Root" button and the rooting will start. During the process, it may ask again for your permission to install the app. Just do the same thing you did above. Wait for the app to complete its processing.

Once it's complete. Go to your home screen. You may see two new icons there. One in Chinese and other with the name of 'Kinguser'. Open 'Kinguser' and you will see something like this.


 
You will see "Successfully obtain Root" message on the top showing that your device is successfully rooted.
